Payouts
Your payout account stays connected to Stripe.
Paid ticket sales require Stripe Connect. New ticket proceeds are held by Up & About until the event ends, then become eligible for release after a two-business-day post-event hold.
Financial visibility
Know what your event is doing.
Up & About tracks held proceeds before release. After funds are transferred to the connected account, Stripe balances and payout records become the account-level source of truth and may reflect settlement timing, disputes, refunds, or other Stripe adjustments.
Organizer FAQ
Questions before you sell?
Here are the answers organizers usually need before putting a paid event live.
How much does Up & About charge for ticketing?+
The standard Up & About service fee is 3% of the ticket price + $0.99 per paid ticket or ticket unit. Free tickets have no Up & About service fee.
Who pays the ticketing service fee?+
You choose per event. You can pass the Up & About service fee to the buyer or absorb it yourself. If you pass it to the buyer, the service fee is added at checkout. If you absorb it, the fee is deducted from your ticket proceeds.
Are there fees on free tickets?+
No. Up & About does not charge its ticketing service fee on a $0 ticket.
When do I get paid?+
Paid ticketing uses Stripe Connect. For new ticket sales, Up & About holds the publisher proceeds until the event has ended. Proceeds become eligible for release after a two-business-day post-event hold, then are transferred to your connected Stripe account. After release, Stripe and your bank control the final bank-deposit timing.
Do I need Stripe to sell paid tickets?+
Yes. Before a paid checkout can go live, your publisher payout account must be connected and ready through Stripe Connect, including the required account details, payment capability, and payout capability. You can still create free tickets without charging attendees.
What ticket types can I create?+
Up & About supports general admission, VIP, early bird, table, booth, standing room, and other custom ticket types. You can also set quantity, maximum per order, seats per unit, and optional sales windows.
Can I sell tables or booths?+
Yes. Ticket types can represent tables, booths, or other multi-seat units. You can set the number of seats represented by each unit as well as the inventory available.
Can I limit how many tickets someone buys?+
Yes. Each ticket type can have a maximum-per-order limit, along with its own total inventory.
Can I schedule when ticket sales open and close?+
Yes. Ticket types can have optional sales start and sales end times. You can also pause or reactivate a ticket type from your ticketing workspace.
How do refunds work?+
You choose the event refund policy before paid ticket sales begin. Supported options include final sale, refundable until 24 hours before the event, refundable until 7 days before the event, or a custom policy. The policy locks after the first paid order so buyers keep the terms they purchased under.
Can I refund an order from my dashboard?+
Yes. Authorized event managers can refund eligible paid orders and individual unused tickets from the event operations tools. Tickets that have already been checked in cannot be refunded through organizer tools.
What happens if I cancel, postpone, or reschedule an event?+
Up & About includes event lifecycle tools for cancellations, postponements, and reschedules. Ticket status and buyer-facing event information can be updated as the event changes, and refund handling is available for affected orders.
How do guests receive and use their tickets?+
Each issued ticket has a unique QR code used for entry. Buyers can access their Up & About tickets after purchase, and eligible tickets can also be offered for Apple Wallet or Google Wallet when those wallet options are available.
How do I check guests in?+
Use the Up & About door scanner to scan a guest’s QR code. Authorized event staff can also manage attendees and perform eligible manual check-ins from the event operations workspace.
What if a guest loses their ticket or needs a new QR code?+
Organizer tools can resend ticket access and reissue an eligible ticket QR. Reissuing invalidates the old QR so the replacement becomes the valid ticket for entry.
Can I see sales and financials before my event?+
Yes. Up & About provides ticket sales, paid orders, ticket mix, check-ins, refunds, service-fee totals, estimated publisher proceeds, Stripe balances, and payout activity. Event proceeds shown inside Up & About are estimates; Stripe is the source of truth for account balances and completed payouts.
Who can use native ticketing?+
Native ticketing is available to supported Up & About publishers, including organizer accounts, approved businesses, and approved active community partners with the required account permissions.
Does Up & About automatically promote my event?+
Publishing on Up & About makes your event eligible to appear across relevant discovery experiences. Featured and sponsored visibility tools may also be available when you want additional promotion. Placement is not guaranteed unless a specific promotional product says otherwise.
